Our puppies are usually reserved in advance and do not appear for sale on our web site so please contact us early to reserve a puppy.

We sometimes have young adults available too.

We are part of the UK Kennel Club accredited breeder's scheme - going that extra mile to get it right.

All Agios puppies are reared within our home in a purpose built centrally heated puppy room, ensuring that both Mother and her puppies have the maximum amount of care needed in the first few weeks after birth.

We believe that rearing our puppies in this way gives them a great start and this makes the adjustment to their new home and environment far easier.

We offer a lifetime of help with your puppy as it grows into adulthood. We are not breeders who forget about you or dogs we have bred and we hope by browsing through our web site you will see how new owners have kept in touch with photographs and new regarding their puppy / adult.

We consider any mating very seriously and do not just jump in when a new male arrives in the country, we like to take our time and study the male and in particular his character. The vast majority of our puppies go to live in family homes with either the owners children, nieces, nephews, Grandchildren or just friends of the family, so we need to know that our pups will grow to have lovely character and be 100% safe around any children they meet.

If you are looking for a puppy you are more than welcome to visit and spend some time with us and our gang, you will find their manners impeccable but also bags of fun.

The puppies below are not for sale, the photographs are just a selection of the Agios pups we have bred.

If you are interested in owning an Agios puppy please contact us.

6 week old  semi long coat puppy

If you are seriously looking for a puppy as a family pet, we would be happy to hear from you.

If you would like to visit and meet us and the gang you will be made very welcome by all. Be prepared to play ball.

Please read below what to expect from us as breeders and the character you can expect from our puppies throughout their lives.

A 5 week old short coated male

We do not have many litters so it is vital that when we do we get it right.

All agios puppies are KC registered, bred from hip scored parents, wormed, tattooed, come with 12 weeks free insurance and are lavishly reared on a gluten free premium complete food, Arden Grange.

We provide a very detailed puppy pack,  and we are always here to help should you need us.

We understand that sometimes circumstances change and people who have the best intentions can no longer give adequate care to a dog, so we will always have our dogs back at whatever age should a problem arise. That way we always know where our dogs are and we will find a suitable home on your behalf.

This gives you peace of mind, us peace of mind and a guarantee that an Agios German Shepherd need never spend a night in an animal shelter for any reason.

We don't have puppies that hide in corners when visitors come to the house, we don't have puppies that shy away when someone goes to pet them, we don't have puppies that run a mile if something is accidentally dropped on the floor and creates a loud noise.

BUT we do have puppies that run to greet everyone, puppies that can't wait to be cuddled, and our puppies run to inspect anything that's dropped on the floor.

When choosing a stud dog, temperament is paramount to us, no one wants a shy dog or one with aggressive tendencies, especially when choosing a dog as a family pet. So at Agios we select only dogs with super temperaments and we do the rest ensuring happy confident puppies.... who are a joy to own.

We can also direct you to German shepherd training schools, German shepherd breed and fun shows, and answer most queries you could have with your shepherd puppy or adult.

I love my little puppy, he makes my house a home,
He always is my best friend, I never feel alone.
He makes me smile, he makes me laugh, he fills my heart with love,
Did some breeder breed him? Was he sent from heaven above?
I've never been a breeder, or seen life through their eyes
I hold my little puppy, and think about you guys
I'll never suffer your anguish, I'll never feel your pain,
Your caring of your charges, through snow or wind or rain.
I've never waited all night long for puppies to be born,
The stress and trepidation when they're still not there by dawn....
I've never felt the heartache of a little life in my hands,
A darling little puppy who weighs just 60 grams !!
Should you do this instead of that? Or just pray to God?
Alone you fight, and hope one day he'll grow into a dog.
Bring joy to another being and make a house a home.
You know it's all just up to you, you fight this fight alone.
Formula, bottle, heating pads you've got to get this right,
Two hourly feeds for this little mite throughout the day and night.
In your heart you know it, you'll surely lose the fight
To save this little baby, but God willing, you just might....
Day one he's in there fighting, you say a silent prayer,
Day two and three he's doing well, with lots of loving care
Day four and five - he's still alive your hopes soar to the heavens!
Day six he slips away again, dies in your hands day seven.

You take this little angel and bury him alone,
With aching heart and burning tears, (and an exhausted groan),
You ask yourself, Why do this? Why suffer all the pain?
But see the joy that puppies bring - it really self explains!
So, when you think of breeders think of all they endure
We couldn't love our puppies one tiny bit more
And when you buy a puppy, with pounds and pence you part.
You only pay with money........
We pay with our hearts.

I saw a glimmering vision
It took my breath away
'twas the silhouette of a shepherd
More regal than words can say

The beams of light they danced
on a coat of endless black
A vision of perfection
Atop an iron back

He stood there like a statue
for all the world to see
What a vision of perfection
The German shepherd can be

The look of a noble prince
Lord of all he surveys
Confident in himself
Eyes fixed in aristocratic gaze

Never shall I forget
The vision I saw that day
Of the mighty shepherd
Who took my breath away
